George Washington: A Lock of Hair. Includes three strands of George Washington's hair. The hair was given by a Custis-Washington family member, probably Eleanor Parke Custis, to the wife of Colonel Levin Powell (1738-1810), an intimate friend of Washington and Revolutionary War hero. A copy of the original provenance, circa 1845, and a certification by noted autograph dealer Charles Hamilton are included in the presentation. Does have toning and spotting on Hamilton's presentation paperwork.
