25th President of the U.S. Signed book: Speeches and Addresses of William McKinley. NY: D. Appleton and Company, 1894. Hardcover, 6.25 x 9.5, 664 pages. Signed on the first free end page, “To Frank G. Carpenter with the sincere friendship of Wm McKinley Aug 5/95.” very good condition. Carpenter was an author, photographer, lecturer, collector of photographs. Carpenter was a writer of standard geography textbooks and lecturer on geography, and wrote a series of books called Carpenter's World Travels which were very popular between 1915 and 1930.He donated his photo collection to the Library of Congress.
