Oblong small 4to photograph signed "With much Regards, your friends, William McKinley / Garret A. Hobart" at bottom right. Depicts the President and Vice President seated in a horse-drawn carriage on a dock with steamship in background. Verso faintly inscribed "...Hotel Champlain, N.Y." Accompanied by a 1 page, 8vo, typewritten letter signed "Geo.B. Cortelyou," on imprinted "Executive Mansion, Washington" stationery, August 23, 1899. Typewritten location below imprint relates "Hotel Champlain, Clinton County, N.Y." Addressed to Colonel Legrand B. Cannon at "Overlake, Near Burlignton, VT.," Cortelyou writes: "At the request of the President and Vice-President I have much pleasure in sending you the enclosed photograph with personal inscription..."

Photograph Bears soiling and long vertical stain at center with a small area of emulsion loss at center right edge.Typewritten letter bears age-toning and light margin stains. Dimensions: Photograph - 6.50 " H x 8.50 " W. Typewritten letter - 7.00 " H x 4.50 " W.6 1/2" x 8 1/2"
