Thomas A. Edison double Signed Edison Phonograph Works Stock Certificate for 4 and 116/1000 Shares, made out to himself, dated August 25th,1888. In his early years inventor Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) . In 1879 he made commercially practicable the incandescent lamp. Other inventions of his included the kinetoscope, ore-mill machinery, the storage battery, and the dictating machine. He invented the phonograph, his greatest single achievement from the viewpoint of inventive imagination. In 1888, he founded the Edison Phonograph Works of New Jersey. This stock certificate is dated in 1888, the very year the company was founded and was issued to Thomas A Edison ". Edison signs this stock certificate twice, once on the front as president and with another beautiful uncancelled umbrella signature on back!.
