A Check to the manufacturer that would cast The Wright brothers engine parts in aluminum for the first sustained flight in the 1903 Flyer. An early Winters National Bank & Trust check, 8.5 x 3, filled out in another hand and signed by Wright, "Orville Wright," payable to Buckeyes Iron and Brass Wrks for $10.86, December 1, 1917. In fine condition. Wright Bros. tried to create one that had at least eight horsepower and weighed less than 200 lbs. Parts for an aluminum alloy engine were cast at Buckeye Iron and Brass Works, their mechanic Charlie Taylor built the new design.
