Rawlings, Marj orie Kinnan. THE YEARLING. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1939. Signed by both Rawlings and the illustrator N.C. Wyeth. Ours is one of the very rare copies with the omitted line (page 196 between lines 5 & 6) and one of the first 520 copies, the other 250 copies (in this limited edition of 770) having a dark blue binding. There are 14 full page color illustrations, 2 in black and white and a facsimile letter from N.C. Wyeth. Rawlings one the Pulitzer Prize for this novel in 1939. Book in fine condition does have a private library label on inside. Does have original box, although in fair condition separated in a few places slight sunning and a few spots.
