Circa 1974 Muhammad Ali Worn & Signed Handwrap with Signed Photograph. Pair of offered relics was autographed and gifted by The Greatest, gifted to Garrett in March of 1982, just a few months after the sixty-first and final bout of Ali's illustrious career. Most noteworthy here is a well-worn "Everlast" brand hand-wrap inscribed in black marker over sweaty stains, "From 1974 Forman (sic) fight To Garrett, Muhammad Ali, March 26 - 82."

While we believe that Ali had some reason to attribute the wrap to that historic 1974 contest, it is much more likely that the wrap was worn in training for "The Rumble in the Jungle" than in the actual bout, as fight wraps are a mass of bandage and tape that must be cut off a boxer's hands with scissors, and this wrap shows no such evidence of that process. There is still, of course, tremendous significance to any relic related to this most famous post-war boxing match. Ali signed an 8x10" photo for our consignor that day as well, the personalized black ink inscription rating 8/10. Photo is EX-MT. Letter of provenance from consignor. Full LOA from PSA/DNA for both items. Full LOA from SGC Authentic for both items..
