Unique Mother Teresa endorsed donation check, made payable to her specifically. $2 check dated 8 December 1989 is endorsed by her on the verso ''M. Teresa mc [Missionaries of Charity]''. Written from a donor in Florida and processed by a Calcutta bank (which probably charged more in fees than the $2.00). 6'' x 2.5'' check has expected cancellations, some affecting her signature which is nevertheless bold and readable. In fine condition. Also included is an unsigned photo of her.
Mother Mary Teresa is honored in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, was an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary. She was born in Skopje, then part of the Kosovo Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire. After living in Skopje for eighteen years, she moved to Ireland and then to India, where she lived for most of her life.
