Radar’s iconic teddy bear from the television series M*A*S*H.Gary Burghoff was endeared by many followers with his casual character“Radar” he played so well one of his attractions was the stuffed bear he carried in many episodes. in the war torn mash locations and situations. After the last aired show in 1983 a time capsule was buried on the a filming site with many of the show’s important props, one prop buried was radar’s famous and always recognized teddy bear. This little teddy bear is virtually synonymous with the Radar O'Reilly character. The teddy bear does exhibit some soiling due to its age and production use. A great prop from this Emmy Award- winning series. The Teddy Bear does come with a notarized handwritten letter from Mr. Burghoff stating the facts of where the bear has been the last 30 years and that it is in fact the Teddy Bear he used on set all those years!
In the second-to-last MASH episode (actually the last episode filmed), "As Time Goes By", Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda) added the teddy bear to a time capsule with other items from the camp, including Klinger's Gone with the Wind dress and a broken fan belt from a helicopter. Hawkeye said, "Let [the bear] symbolize all the boys who came over here that left as men."
