Intresting letter to a Dr. Windsor, recommending a number of books and articles on various medical issues, mainly focused on Typhoid. written on Osler's personal stationary, dated Baltimore. 22, Oct 1900. In full:Dear Dr. WindsorStengel on Pathology. Simon’s clinical Microscopy and Taylor’s Syphilis (both the latter published by Lea Bros.), Leas Volume on Physiological Chemistry try, the section on Fosters Physiology published separately by MacMillian & co., of New Yor, would be good books for you. I did not get any reprints of my Typhoid article in the Philadelphia Medical Journal, but a whole series of articles, it among them, will be published by the Johns Hopkins University Press, through which you can subscribe for the typhoid fasciculus. I send you a few reprints that may be of interest.Very truly yours, “Wm Osler” Canadian-born physician and researcher (1849–1919) who was a founding professor of Johns Hopkins Hospital. Osler created the first residency program for specialty training of physicians, and he was the first to bring medical students out of the lecture hall for bedside clinical training.
