Very thick 18mo combination prayer book and New Testament, Oxford, 1835, ornately bound in dark blue velvet with gilded metallic edges and clasp, small gilt label 'Prayer and Confessions' at center of upper cover, velvet bordered pastedowns with silk endpapers, a.e.g., housed in original top-flap morocco saddlebag box, volume in exceptional, superb condition, box with slight rubbing. At leaf prior to title, in ink: ''HC. with H. Clay's affectionate love & wishes - 1837: Very rare item and a beautiful book!
