Ernest Thompson Seton was a Scots-Canadian became a noted author, wildlife artist, founder of the Woodcraft Indians, and one of the founding pioneers of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Seton also influenced Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting. His notable books related to Scouting include The Birch Bark Roll and The Boy Scout Handbook. He is responsible for the appropriation and incorporation of what he believed to be American Indian elements into the traditions of the BSA.Fountain pen signature and inscription,"Thank you in some small measure in letting me deliver my " Message of The Redman" 22 Sun Leaf Falling Moon 1929,” adding a small paw print sketch as well as a sketch of the moon, on an off-white album page. In very good condition. Also with a sketch of a dog by David Newell an American journalist, novelist, and children's writer perhaps most famous for his books regarding early twentieth century rural life in western central Florida. Earlier writings included The Fishing and Hunting Answer Book, illustrated by Lynn Bogue Hunt, a children's book titled American Animals, "Cougars and Cowboys" and numerous short stories and articles.
