John Quincy Adams signed land grant. Partially printed oblong folio, Washington, D.C., June 6, 1826, conveying eighty acres of land in Zanesville, Ohio to James Wagstaff of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Full seal intact and present at lower left corner. Presented in a black wooden frame with a lithograph of Adams. Framed to an overall size over 19" x 31"; land grant 9.5" x 15", with the lithograph 8.75" x 13". Some fading to ink; light toning to sheet; otherwise fine condition.
John Quincy Adams (July 11, 1767 – February 23, 1848) was an American statesman, politician, diplomat, lawyer, and diarist who served as the sixth president of the United States, from 1825 to 1829. He previously served as the eighth United States secretary of state from 1817 to 1825. During his long diplomatic and political career, Adams served as an ambassador and also as a member of the United States Congress representing Massachusetts in both chambers.
