Herbert Hoover Typed Letter Signed "Herbert Hoover" as President of the United States. One page, 7" x 9", on White House letterhead, Washington, July 6, 1932, to the membership committee of The Brook Club in New York City. Hoover offers his support to a potential addition to the club, he writes in the letter "I have known Mr. Noyes for a number of years and he is a man of the type that would be a credit to the club. I have hesitated writing in the matter as I did not wish any importance to be given to the weight of my position, but simply to be considered as a member of the club." In fine condition.
Herbert Clark Hoover (August 10, 1874 – October 20, 1964) was an American politician and engineer who served as the 31st president of the United States from 1929 to 1933 and a member of the Republican Party, holding office during the onset of the Great Depression. Before serving as president, Hoover led the Commission for Relief in Belgium, served as the director of the U.S. Food Administration, and served as the third U.S. secretary of commerce.
