TLS in French, signed “G. Eiffel,” one page, 7.75 x 9.75, personal letterhead, January 12, 1912. The letter is dated January 12 1912. Gustave Eiffel is thanking the famous Parisian photographer Henri Manuel who served as the official photographer of the French government from 1914 to 1944 for the photos he took and how he would be interested in ordering more of his portraits. Handsomely matted with Photo of the Eiffel tower.

Gustave Eiffel A graduate of the prestigious École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures of France, he made his name with various bridges for the French railway network, most famously the Garabit viaduct. He is best known for the world-famous Eiffel Tower, built for the 1889 Universal Exposition in Paris, and his contribution to building the Statue of Liberty in New York. After his retirement from engineering, Eiffel focused on research into meteorology and aerodynamics, making significant contributions in both fields.
