New York: Printed by John Anderson, at the Constitutional Printing-Office.
This exceptionally rare pamphlet records the minutes and decisions of the New Jersey Provincial Congress during its pivotal meeting in New Brunswick, New Jersey, from January 31 to March 2, 1776. It also includes the activities and resolutions of the Committee of Safety during a critical moment in the American Revolutionary War. This document offers unique insights into the legislative and executive measures adopted by New Jersey's revolutionary government, providing an invaluable perspective on the colony's transition to independence.
This is the first time this pamphlet has come to market since 1967, when the only other known copy sold for $800. It is an extraordinarily rare and historically significant artifact, nearly impossible to obtain—a must-have for collectors of Revolutionary War-era materials.
Condition and Restoration:
This pamphlet has been archivally treated to preserve its integrity. The title page and the first two pages have undergone expert restoration, with losses infilled using pulp paper. The remaining pages were guarded with Japanese tissue, and the entire work was resewn and rebound in a custom Monk-colored Siegel goatskin binding with blind tooling. Despite restoration to the first three pages, the rest of the pamphlet is in very good condition, with no missing text. Some pages were trimmed, but the content remains complete and legible.
A true collector's item—extremely rare and steeped in American history.
