Heine, Ernesto/Artistas de America (rare signed and limited edition copy of the second and last edition of "Artistas de America y de Espana 2" by the South American art critic and author Ernesto Heine. Titled DAMIANI /DIAZ YEPES /GARCIA REINO /MAC ENTYRE /WIDMANN the book contains 4 original works of art, 3 signed. 1) is by Jorge Damiani (1931-); 2) Oscar Garcia Reino (1910 - 1993); 3) Eduardo Mac Entyre (1929 - 2014) (* Most Valuable Art) and 4) Bruno Widmann (1930 - ).
With dj, in Spanish, 100 pages, published in December 1979 by the Imprenta Rosgal Sociedad Anonima in Montevideo, Uruguay. Written inscription in blue pen of best wishes to “Myriam (?) Glickman y Eugene Javier Langdon” by Ernest Heine under printed limitation: “This second issue of the collection Artists of America and Spain, [issued] in an edition of 450 numbered copies signed by the author.” Book consists of 5 chapters on each artist, with text and exhibitions listed in margins, index to illustrations at end, brown endpapers, dust jacket w/ Heine bio and portrait. B/W illustrations, some color, outside dimension of book 7 "x 7 " in, plain red leather covers. Every one of the 4 pieces of art was created on a board, which was laid to a heavy paper backing, each approx. 7 x 7 in.++ Jorge Damiani (1931-), pgs 11-26. Oil and paper collage on board showing dove or pigeon on nest, above stones, with tree at right. Signed “Damiani 79” lower right. Black paint shows very slight scuffing, fingerprints, collage very good, outside corners very slightly rubbed. ++ Eduardo Diaz Yepes ( 1910-1978), pgs. 27-46. No artwork on board for Diaz Yepes is included, no evidence of removal, pages in consecutive order. ++ Oscar Garcia Reino (1910 - 1993), pgs. 47-60. Colored paper collage, signed “Garcia Reino” in black pen in lower right. Slight toning to outer edge, wrinkling to central paper motif, otherwise very good. ++ Eduardo Mac Entyre (1929 - 2014), pgs. 61-82. Abstract oil, wood and paper collage, unsigned, possibly titled ONDAS or WAVES. Very small chip missing from lower right corner, otherwise very good condition. ++ Bruno Widmann (1930 - ), pgs. 83-95. Abstract oil, paper and paint collage, signed “Widmann” in brown ink in center.
