Fantastic image of clipper ship soaring in the clouds at an altitude of 1500. Eric Sloane (American, 1905-1985) "Clipper At 1500," 1945, oil on canvas board, 29" x 24", signed and titled lower right, framed. Has form Charles Larsen from Nat Kurman. Eric Sloane (born Everard Jean Hinrichs) (27 February 1905 – 5 March 1985) was an American landscape painter and author of illustrated works of cultural history and folklore. His most famous painted work is probably the skyscape mural, Earth Flight Environment, which is still on display in the Independence Avenue Lobby in the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum.
