Duke of Wellington Handwritten letter signed, dated June 22, London, 1 page, 5" x 4", mounted to a board, trimmed with light toning. Addressed to the Chevalier War teller, "I have signed and sent off the certificate and nothing remains but for me to thank you." Signed "Wellington", in excellent condition. 

Duke of Wellington, (1 May 1769 – 14 September 1852) was an Anglo-Irish military officer and statesman who was one of the leading military and political figures in Britain during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, serving twice as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He is among those who ended the Napoleonic Wars in a victory when the Seventh Coalition defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
