An Alice Marble 4.25" x 7.25" black and white photo of her on the tennis court and signed "Alice Marble" in black ink. In fine condition. Also included is an Alice Marble signed card with a personalized inscription, 6" x 9" in size when unfolded. An image of the Palm Desert Country Club is on the reverse, where she settled and taught tennis until her death.
An Arthur Ashe 8" x 10" black and white photo of him playing tennis and signed "Best wishes Arthur Ashe" in blue ink. In fine condition.
Alice Marble (September 28, 1913 – December 13, 1990) was an American tennis player who won 18 Grand Slam championships (1936–1940): five in singles, six in women's doubles, and seven in mixed doubles.
Arthur Ashe Jr. (July 10, 1943 – February 6, 1993) was an American professional tennis player who won three Grand Slam singles titles. He was the first Black player selected to the United States Davis Cup team and the only Black man ever to win the singles title at Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Australian Open.
