Abraham Lincoln, Edward Stanton signed military appointment, August 15, 1862, to Thomas Little of the 13th Infantry to 1st Lieutenant.  The document is 19.25" x 14.875". The document has its original War Office green embossed seal on the upper left corner along with a notation that it was recorded in the Adjutant General's Office on June 8, 1863. A fine example of an officer appointment to a very noteworthy regiment; discoloration commensurate w/ age; heavy fold line down the middle; significant dark spot on the bottom edge; five light horizontal fold lines; some fading to signatures commensurate w/ age.

Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) was an American lawyer, politician, and statesman who served as the 16th president of the United States from 1861 until his assassination in 1865. Lincoln led the nation through the American Civil War and succeeded in preserving the Union, abolishing slavery, bolstering the federal government, and modernizing the U.S. economy.
