These are 2 amazing items, an ORIGINAL letter from the Osborn Engineering Company on their letterhead and signed by an official, dated just "days" before the Grand Opening and original 1923 wire photo of the Stadium the week it was opened!

ORIGINAL letter from the Osborn Engineering Company on their letterhead and signed by an official, dated just "days" before the Grand Opening of the Stadium for the Yankees Home Opener vs. Boston Red sox. During the start of the 1920's decade, New York Yankees owner Jacob Rupert decided that the Polo Grounds (the home of the Yankees and the New York Giants) was not large enough to hold all the fans that wanted to see Babe Ruth. In 1921, the Osborn Engineering Company of Cleveland, Ohio was commissioned to build the most modern stadium of the time and was completed in time for the beginning of the 1923 season. The birth of Yankee Stadium!!! This is an ORIGINAL letter from the Osborn Engineering Company on their letterhead and signed by an official, dated just "days" before the Grand Opening of the Stadium for the Yankees Home Opener vs. Boston Red sox. I was sent to one Osborn's sub-contractors, the White Construction Co., in reference to finishing touches to the Grandstand and Upper Deck of the now historical structure.

Original 1923 Wire Photo YANKEE STADIUM Opens!

An original Wire Photo from the Opening of Yankee Stadium from April of 1923. The Stadium opened on April 18th for a series against the Boston Red Sox. The photo carries a stamp of April 20, 1923, making it possible that this is a shot from the opener (wire photos were usually dated a day or two after since newspapers reported events the day after). The Original photo measures 6.5" x9" and exhibits Original editorial markings as it was used in actual publication to announce that baseball in the Bronx has began. The photo exhibits superb detail clarity and contrast. It has been clipped on the two left corners not affecting the overall image. Great Authentic Historical piece's for the Yankee fanatic!!!

Condition Report: Please note the photo does have a  horizontal crease going across 75% of the photo in the upper portion. It has not been removed from matting for further inspection, could have some separation.
